AFLAO CITIZENS ASSOCIATION OF NORTH AMERICA

The Aflao Citizens Association of North America was formed in the year of our lord 1999. It was born out of the braveness and concern of our first Chairman and President, the late Dr. Vincent Y. Kofie. Since then, the association has been researching and trying to determine what will be the most effective way to help those communities in Ghana to get out of poverty.

The outcome of the association research and deliberation steamed out of the core concept of our founder (may his soul rest in perfect peace) was to setup a Community Library and a scholarship program for the children of Aflao and the surrounding areas to help those children who are gifted but yet do not have the financial backing and resources to advance in life.

The Association has been in constant contact with Togbui Amanyah Fiti V, Paramount chief of Aflao Traditional Area through our representative in Aflao Mr. Kojo Peterson, a former resident of Canada who currently resides and doing business in Ghana.

It was brought to the Associations attention that, although it is a noble idea to build a new community library, the existing library located at the Avoeme Senior High School drastically needs some materials such as reading books, Text books, Computers and more for the advancement of the children. This has led to ACANAM currently soliciting for a variety of books, computers, network equipments, monitors, etc. to resolve the current needs of the children.
